We have had our resident mud roller, Yumme Win D096 at Knights Equestrian for 8 months now. He has had on and off work done with him, hacked out, long reined etc and has been a super star.
But... he just keeps having some niggly issues that pop up, a mystery lameness (not hugely significant) but it is always something that we decide to put him back out in the paddock. We are now at a cross roads thinking "where can we go from here"!
Well, all we can say is he needs time, and someone to love!
History - He retired from the race track in Hong Kong after 3 years and never actually getting to the races at all!
Officially retired in March 2021 with what some would say a "slightly colourful" veterinary history. The most recent thing being a suspensory injury in February 2021 - so he's had plenty of rehab now and that is not a problem. I should note this horse has been gone over with a fine comb, so all options explored, and his full history is available to all interest people.
He has had on and off issues over his 3 years in HK but he is only 5yo, 16.1hh approx and as you can see a pretty handsome, gentle boy. He was bred in New Zealand and by Roc de Cambes out of the mare Darci's Gold.
So - Our Plan! We would love to find a home who is willing to continue giving him time. Play with him, train him on the ground, even hack him out - but be patient enough to wait and start his education for his new life off the track when his body is ready! He would make a lovely dressage horse, Adult riding club - he even has gone bone to fit in in the Hunter ring!
He has had a solid 8 months now of amazing care at Knights Equestrian He looks a million dollars, and they haven't found a bad bone in his body! So if someone can continue this amazing work, we will happily take him back to Knights when he is ready and cover 1 month of re-training with them for you!!
A great opportunity for someone, and when you meet him you won't be able to say no to that Yumme Face!
